War Opinion
Ratih: “ Hello viq, I have just seen, 'Dream High 2'... You know.... It’s Korea's film that’s well known and has not played in Indonesia.”
Raviq: “ oh.. really? What’s good from it? How do you get it and watch it? instead you said that it has not been played in Indonesia.”
Ratih: “ If you asked me where I get it, I would tell you. It’s because I’m lucky. There’s my brother’s friend in Korea. My brother asked him to record the film and send it by e-mail. So, I can enjoy it. Korea film is good, why don’t you like it, viq?”
Raviq: “ I don’t like it because that’s normal. I’m more interested in western film than Korea. I’m really curious in American and the content inside. It’s amazing, Ratih, you will love it.”
Ratih: “ no no no, Korean is better, viq! It has many amazing culture and places. The boy and the girl band are world-wide now. The western people also like the Korean, viq!”
Raviq: “ I don’t believe it. The world is still dominated by western people. The music, the artists, the greatness of state nation, and much more.”
Ratih: “ Yeah.. you are right. But don’t forget its culture. It brings bad influence to Indonesian people. Remember viq, the culture isn’t good for us.”
Raviq: “ Don’t imitate the bad influence. Besides that, there’s also the good influence that can be imitated. It’s depend on you, If you take the good influence, you will get good things. If you don’t, you will get bad things. So let me ask you about Korea. What do you know about Korea ?”
Ratih: “ Okay, I know everything about Korea. It’s true, I’m Kpop. Now, It’s my turn. How about you? What do you know about America? As you said you’re more interested in America than our country, Indonesia.”
Raviq: “ Of course, I know everything about America. If you don’t believe it, we will compare our knowledge about them. First, what is the characteristic of Korean food? Do you know it?”
Ratih: “ It’s easy, kimchi, one of fermented vegetables flavored spicy, high fiber and low in calories. It’s one of the five healthiest foods in the Korean people say the word “kimchi” is substitute word of “cheese” when someone is photographed. There’s also kimchi museum, viq. Now you’re turn. What is the characteristic of American foods?”
Raviq: “ haha, There’s many western food here. We often eat it. For examples: french fries, pizza, fried chicken, tacos, burritos, hot dog’s tuna sandwiches and burgers. It’s easy to make burger, it’s made by beef that is equipped vegetables. But honestly, I don’t like those foods, hehe..”
Ratih: “ Aviq.. aviq, your bad habit is you don’t like vegetables and fruits. What really do you like, viq?”. “Now, where is the interesting and amazing places in America? Or is there no places like that?”
Raviq: “of course, there are many places like that. Liberty that is known as the statue of liberty, it’s giant statue that’s located on the island, at the mouth of the Hudso river, new york harbor, united state. There’s also Niagara, a large waterfall on the Niagara river at the international border between united state with canadian province. Those are two of the interesting and amazing place in America. How about korea, tih?”
Ratih: “ It’s definitely, viq. There are many beautiful places in korea. The first is Jeju island that’s very famous. Then mount Halla, the highest mountain in carousel. Next, Namsan seoul tower, the shooting location of continue to exist. It’s one of the highest tower in seoul which is once as military observation post. Then kimchi museum, dadohae haesang, changdeogung palace, and many more.”
Raviq: “ wow.. you know more about the amazing place in korea. What else do you like about korea, tih? “
Ratih: “ I love the culture, food, music, actors, bat less in drama. So amazing, viq! Indonesia lost much. I like korea because I always watch Korean dramas, since I am a child. I still remember the first Korean drama that I have ever seen, the title is “Endless Love”. Another drama that I have ever seen are my girl, Boys before flower, Brilliant legacy, coffee prince, princess hours, jewel in the palace.” . “ viq, you are “Saegok”, are not you? A person who like Korean drama but only the traditional one. How about the western film? What film do you like, viq?”
Raviq: “ hehe.. yes, I am “saegok”. The lover of traditional Korean drama. I love the western film that usually play in the theatre. But the most I like is disney cartoon as mickey mouse, donald duck, pluto and other. I have seen cartoons since I was a child so I am a cartoon maniac haha..”
Ratih: “ You still look childish, viq haha..”
Raviq: “ huh, are you kidding ?”. “ How about korean music? It uses korean language, right? Do you understand it? What song do you like?”
Ratih: “ That’s right viq. I will enjoy if I hear Korean music. Even though I don’t know the meaning clearly, I feel enjoy with their unique language. I like good bey my princess like, losing my mind, no other, it has to be you. At least I know the intention of the song from the title track. Use English language title is so helpful, hehe..”
Raviq: “ emm.. that’s exactly true, tih. I have some english song, too. It’s called western music. For example: if I die young, love you like a love song, price tag, heart like stone, who you are, unfriend you, and many more. I like all that songs because I like the singer. Like David Archuleta, the american idol session 7, Greyson chance, the band perry, How about you tih?”
Ratih: “ Me? I like Koreans boys band and girls band. They are now popular in Indonesia. For example: Suju, SNSD, 2PM, Big Bang, 2Ne1. Their dance so cool, popular and it’s imitated by young people today. It gives great influence to Asia.”
Raviq: “ That’s right Tih. Can you tell me the background of the singer? Which one of them give motivation and encouragement you?”
Ratih: “The most I know is Rain. This real name is Jeong Ji Hoon. Born in Korea, 25 June 1782. This career began when he joined the boys band. The band had been disbanded and Rain chose a solo career. He played in ‘full house’ the series and since then he’s more famous and admired many people. Another singer who I know most is Hye Gyo. Born in Korea, 22 November 1981. I think she is one of the Korean artist who really beautiful. I want to be her. She also played in ‘full house’ the series as Han Ji Eun. Now it’s your turn to tell me about David Archuleta or Greyson Chance. You really like both of them don’t you.?”
Raviq: “wow .. you know we well tih haha.. But I most like Greyson Chance. Born in Texas 16 August 1997, about 14 yours old now. He is very young. He is pop rock singer and pianist. He had got award at the kids choice award. He’s famous because he played piano and sang the lady gaga song, ‘Paparazzi’. Then it was uploaded in youtube. After that, his career continue increase. When Greyson Chance come to Indonesia, I felt envy cause I couldn’t see him. Just like when David came to Indonesia, I also couldn’t see him. I have no money, haha..”
Ratih: “ haha.. that’s funny viq. You really know about Greyson Chance.”
Raviq: “ You too. You know until the details. Actually Korea is rich of culture, especially the clothes. I want to wear the Korean tradisional dress, when I merry. But is scarce here. That’s only my dream, Tih haha..”
Ratih: “ Your dream is weird, Viq haha.. The korea tradisional dress is beautiful. The custome ceremony in korea is unique, viq. For example Dano festival, spring festival, Daeboreum festival (full moon festival). But we can see it directly. We can only see it in youtube.”
Raviq: “ haha.. of course,Tih. Just from youtube you can see all the culture around the world. Actually, I don’t knowAmerican culture but I know about politic and military of America. Both of them are good example for high morale attitudesand it’s not easy to be implemented. Develop the strategy fast, accurate and precise. I only know about the ancestral lauds of indigeuous coboy haha.. I know it from ‘New York Times’, the site on the internet.”
Ratih: “haha.. it should be the attitude example of Indonesian people, hard working and never give up. Many Indonesian people have despair and many of them are unemployed. We went to go there but the distance is too far. It can not to be seem. We can be crazy over there.”
Raviq: “ That’s only a dream, impossible. But who knows that can be a real dream, hehe.. If it can not be real, it will be our destiny, haha..”
Ratih: “Amin, Viq.. By the way, our topic about our dream has the same title with the film ‘Dream High 2’. How about if we make our dream to be ‘Dream High 2’ film?. It will be funny, won’t it ? haha..”
Raviq: “It could be.. Our topic is exciting. So we have more experience and measure the extent to which we know about what we enjoy.”
Ratih: “ I want to invite you to watch ‘Dream high 2’. Now, in order to make you happy with Kpop and eventually become like me, cann’t you?. The movie is cool, Viq. And I have the film, so we can watch it in the first time. How luckly we are, Viq.”
Raviq: “ It’s good tih? If not good, it will be futile.”
Ratih: “ Be serious, I guarantee you will not regret it. Can we hook Viq? You will get more knowledge about Korea. Okay?”
Raviq: “When Tih? You seduce me, don’t you?. Okay I will watch it with you. At your home? What time? When?”
Ratih: “ After school? How about tomorrow?”
Raviq: “ I have bimbel after school, Tih. So, I could not.”
Ratih: “ How about Wednesday? Do you have bimbel too?”
