7 Photos Animals New in Antarctica

A large survey of Antarctic life conducted back in 2008 by scientists around the world. New Zealand National Institute of Water and Atmospheric Research played a key role in this survey. They and other researchers collected 30,000 sea creatures-many new to science-during the 35-day census in Antarctic waters in February and March. Large-scale survey was part of the International Polar Year and Census of Antarctic Marine Life programs, which study the diversity of Antarctic marine life. Of the many new species discovered, before known to man, we're doing ten presentations.

Once the scientists found many things that can be dug from the Antarctic sea, now volunteers consisting of New Zealand's National Institute of Water and Atmospheric Research re-discovered animals that are not known from the Antarctic sea. The creation almighty god almighty, 7 animals were now in control and research scientists who work to dig the animals living in Antarctica.

1. The sea spiders

1. Laba-laba laut
This 19-inch long creature may be tunicate or "sea-squirt ', say scientists. This mysterious animal was found floating 7218 feet below the surface of the water in the southern Ross Sea Antarctica.

This is what the scientists say, the sea spiders 9.8 inches long, was found south of the Ross Sea in Antarctica. Cold temperatures, few predators, and high levels of oxygen in seawater could explain their gargantuan size, Don Robertson New Zealand National Institute of Water and Atmospheric Research told the Associated Press.

2. Antarctic Octopus

Octopus Antartika
They call it the Antarctic Octopus and it was marked as the 18th octopus species ever found. This octopus was found at a depth of 3,280 feet.

A unique type of starfish, which looks like a sack, measuring 24inci discovered by the New Zealand National Institute of Water and Atmospheric Research on February 15, 2008.

3.  stareater

5.  ampipoda

ampipoda
This species is called ampipoda and was first discovered in 2004 by Antarctic research ship Tangaroa. This crustacean looks like a shrimp and was found at a depth of 985 meters from the same location in 2008.

They call it pork and sea cucumbers declare genus (holothurians). Sea cucumbers are part of a group of marine animals that inhabit the seafloor, including sea stars, sea slugs, corals, clams, sponges, and urchins.
